To create an ND Gradient using Photoshop.
1. Using photoshop elements, go to layer - new - layer - o/k to make layer 1.
2. Select the gradient tool from the tool box.
3. Click the foreground colour swatch, bottom left hand side of screen.
4. In the colour picker window choose a bright colour - click o/k when happy with selection.
5. Gradient options - options bar - click on the downward facing arrow next to gradient preview
to bring up a list of presets.
6. Select second option called foreground to transparent.
7. This depicts your colour choice fading into a chequered pattern.
8. Immediately right of the downward facing arrow - click to activate the linear gradient type and
also ensure transparency is ticked further to the right.
9. Now add the grad, click where you want to start.
10. Drag a line down where you want it to fade through to transparent.
11. Click the top of the image and drag down the horizon.
12. The grad is now in place now we need to blend it, go to layers palette - click normal - select
overlay from menu.
13. Now use the opacity slider to change the strenght of the filter.
