If you are going to be uploading you photographs onto the internet you may want to
protect them from internet theft by adding a watermark to you photograph.
Follow the four easy steps below to create your watermarked photo ,
Step 1. Open the image into adobe photoshop and select the Text tool. Click on the
part of the image you want to watermark and type your name, preceded by a
@ (copyright) symbol.
Step 2. Format the text to the correct size and mid-grey colour. You'll notice that
this text is on a separate layer ; change its blending mode to Screen to
complete the watermark.
Step 3. Keeping the water mark as a separate layer means you can switch it off to
save a non-marked version. Saving a jpeg with layer switched on means the
water mark is saved too.
Step 4. Now your finished, watermarked image is complete. The text will be hard for
anyone to remove, even with photoshop's cloning tool, but does not get in the
way of the picture too much.
Of course the only way to truely protect you photographs from internet theft is not to
put the photo's on the internet to begin with.
