Here is the Tri Tip Steak cooking recipe that the butcher provided when we first started buying Tri Tip from them. It's Easy, simple and let's the flavor of the meat come through. I serve with Béarnaise Sauce.
1) Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Cook for 15 minutes, Fat side Up. Do not Cover. Do not turn.
2) Turn over down to 350 degrees. Cook for additional 25 - 30 mins for Medium to Medium Rare.
