Cooking is a hobby. I prefer gourmet recipes that are simple and easy because I am working full time and do not always feel like a huge effort. On weekends especially with the family participating, cooking can be fun. One example is a pulled pork recipe my daughter and I did. It was easy but had to be planned well as it took 24 hours to prepare. I love sauces and spices. I do use fresh and prepared foods but choose my prepared foods carefully for the most nutrition and tasty possible. We plan our grocery shopping once a week to get the freshest and most inspiring and available foods. Living in a rural area, there are not as much fresh produce available so I am adjusting my cooking to more regional items but still love a wide variety of styles and cultures (much to my wife's chagrin).
My collections contains some of my classic dishes that I have prepared for years and documented on other web sites. I have recently begun adding new recipes that I have found and enhanced along with some fundamental steps as my kids begin to do their own cooking and need some basic item preparation help such as baking a potato.
