Our original plan was to visit Southern States, the New England Coast and New Brunswick and do it in a year's time. 362 days later we returned to California.
Saying farewell to the East Coast, we headed to Tennessee, planning on visiting Dollywood. Turned out Dollywood was closed on the days planned, so we visited the Smoky Mountain National Park. Limited hiking due to the hot/humid weather, but the views of the mountains (Mt Le Conte 6593ft), valleys, rivers & lakes were worth the side trip. Some of the trees were turning to oranges & reds and an evening at Dolly's Dixie Stampede dinner show was fun & entertaining. On the way out of Tennessee, we made a stop at a winery, so Renee could do one more "foreign" tasting before getting back to pallet-pleasing California wines.
Our route from Tennessee took us 7-days of travel through Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona and finally California. Mostly one-stop-nondescript hotels, with the exception of a lovely B&B in the King Edward District in San Antonio, an upgraded suite at a Casino in Arizona and a 2-day stop in Anaheim. Aaron met us for a day in the Park and Georgy & Jim met us for dinner. It was a perfect Homecoming.
No complaints, no regrets. Well planned & executed. Amazing adventures saved with amazing photos & memories!
Now, on to the next life adventures-
