We were there from morning until night! The Park is comprised of an aquarium, botanical gardens (in one area) and a zoo (in another area) and you need at least 2 hours each for the aquarium and the zoo. Since we were there in the dead of winter, the gardens didn't take long, but they do contain a very big Garden Scale train setup. We took a bigger train from the garden/aquarium section to the zoo. I loved the aquarium - really thoughtful exhibits, displays and a movie on the Rio Grande. But the most wonderful part of our visit was after dark. Every Christmas, they have the River of Lights exhibit in the botanical garden. I can't really capture the magic of the lights and the music in either film or words - I almost cried when I saw it - but I hope you can get some idea of the magic of the moment. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the people of Albuquerque, who created such a fabulous event.
