In The Community

The Cadet program encourages youth to develop an understanding of civic responsibility and the role they can play in supporting and strengthening their communities. To this end, our Squadron endeavours to provide opportunities to Cadets to help out local charities in our community. Being a part of these events is a way for cadets to give back to the community and pay tribute to the men and women in the armed forces, our veterans, and those who have made the cadet movement what is today. The Cadets program can provide an opportunity for students to obtain some of the required hours of community involvement prior to secondary school graduation. Since September 2004 3 Squadron has given back to the community in the following ways:

  • Salvation Army food collection and kettle campaign
  • Food Bank
  • Remembrance Parade - Strathroy
  • Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Sales
  • Remembrance Day Ceremonies and Vigils - Strathroy, Delaware, Glencoe, Melbourne, various area schools
  • Park Cleanups
  • West Middlesex Memorial Centre landscaping and gardening

The Air Cadet League of Canada envisions the Royal Canadian Air Cadets as Canada’s premier and a world class youth development movement. Being attuned to societal changes, it strives diligently to be a totally dedicated, proactive and innovative partner to encourage and enhance the development of well adjusted, civic minded youth to undertake leadership roles in a great Canada and a better World.
