International Emergency Response Day

IERD was started in the early 90’s and is held annually in early May bringing together vintage police car enthusiasts, emergency services, and school children, with over 70 delegates from Emergency Response agencies on both sides of the border.  International Emergency Response Day is made possible by volunteers from the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department, Thames Valley EMS, Strathroy-Caradoc Police Services, Victim Services of Middlesex County and others.  Exhibitors set up inside a the West Middlesex or Gemini Arena and outdoors on the parking lot.  Children arrived in buses, are assigned a tour guide, and then taken through the displays, where learning points reinforce the positive interaction between the kids and the emergency services workers.

#3 Striker Air Cadet Squadron has a booth at IERD with our flight simulator and other displays. Primarily we are set up for recruitment but we also provide information about the Cadet movement. Staff and senior cadets volunteer at the booth.
