To all concerned,
Many of you are already aware, but for those who are not: R. Lowell Bennington, known in the Ham Radio community as WD4DJW & NNN 0FLB (MARS), died of complications from his 2 and half year battle with cancer. He passed away on Friday evening. Many have already been lifting up prayers, expressing concern for our family & inquiring as to Memorial Arrangements.
As of the last hour, we have decided on Friday, January 2nd, 2015 from 5:30-8:00pm EST for visitation & Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at 1:30pm EST for his memorial service. Both will take place at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 400 Glenwood Drive , Chattanooga , TN 37404 . (The corner of 3rd & Glenwood, in front of Notre Dame Highschool.)
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the following:
The American Cancer Society;
The American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee ;
The Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Fund of the American Radio Relay League;
Troop 82, Cherokee Area Council, Boy Scouts of America .
