On thursday 24^th , Vincent Picot came to present his work in Sigmaphi. The Sigmaphi’s head office is located at Vannes. It’s a company specialized in Electromagnets manufacturing for, the most of the time, the particle accelerator. This is a two-hundred-firm including qualified scientists, managers and engineers. It was founded in 1981. Indeed, it’s well-growing company since there’re so many implementation of Sigmaphi around the world. Around the surface of the globe, the firm’s workeforce is almost that two hundred and fifty pepoples. They produce a turnover of twenty-five millions dollars.

The principles of Sigmaphi is to make Electromagnets in founction of the customer needs. For example, it’s them who build the CERN, which measure twenty-six kilometers of circumference, in Switzreland. That’s the same for the CEA, CNRS... and others majors scientificals institutions.

An electromagnetic coït can weight up to twenty-five tonnes. Still it can also be four time smaller than a mouse. It’s why this firm has to adjust to the conditions of the sell. The price fluctuate between from ten thusands of dollars to three millions of dollars.
