We saw a conference about hydrolian turbine developed by Sabella company.

The Manager explain us that the tidal turbine principe was the same as wind turbines. They use Fluid velocity to create energy.

They put a real tidal turbine as a prototype to mesure the environment impact not far of Belle île In Britany.

At Ouessant there is a submarine canyon with 5mps water stream, for a tidal Turbine,you need 2mps minimum to make it working.

During 11 weeks the french tidal turbine produced 70 MW.h . However The power of a Nuclear power plant is about 1GW, so it's not our first electricity source yet.

In the future, for them, they want to create tidal turbine farm, as few nuclear power plant.

Basically, the socle stay in the seabed of the ocean, while, the turbine can always been recover for a maintenace.

To put it in a nutshell, the conference was very interesting and Mr Daviaux was very good to explain the system.
