Please note that DEQ has received notification from Gelman that the company will be temporarily shutting down extraction wells TW-10, TW-20, PW-1, TW-8 and TW-22 from October 20 to October 30 to complete investigation and testing activities on the Gelman property. DEQ has acknowledged the shutdown and has requested to be informed when the extraction from these wells has been restarted. DEQ has also requested that the company provide a summary of the temporary shutdown activities including an evaluation of the impacts, if any, of the temporary shutdown on the response activity objectives identified in the current Consent Judgement.

Another item for the 11/14 CARD agenda... Is this an emergency action or part of some plan that wasn't shared earlier?
The DEQ should require extra static water sampling before, during and after the shutdown to get some useful data about
the effect of such a shutdown, since it is a unique instance to have no purging for 10 days from those 3 aquifers closest to the source.
