Long awaited renewal of Gelman's permit to discharge its partially treated dioxane purge water to the Sister Lakes Tributary of Honey Creek upstream from Barton Pond where Ann Arbor gets 80-85% of it drinking water.
The limits of the proposed permit are the same as recent prior versions in spite of state dioxane standards being tightened since the prior permit to partially adhere to 2010 EPA guidelines.
Public comment on the proposed permit ends February 23, 2024. Stay tuned to CARD news and meetings for more info.
