Scholarships
The SCOH Aviation Scholarship helps a local young person learn to fly gliders. Anybody that is interested in contributing to the scholarship fund, please contact us.
Noel Foundation Air Fair
SCOH Members are involved with the Noel Foundation. The Noel foundation sponsors "Air Fairs" where elementary and middle school children are introduced to aviation as means to motivate students to study science and engineering. Some of our SCOH members volunteer their gliders and their time to participate in the event. More Information.
Waller County
SCOH is a member of the Waller Area Chamber of Commerce. On a regular basis, we host an event called "Good Neighbor Day" that encourages the local community to enjoy the sport of gliding. More information.
The summer of 2011 saw devastating wildfires in Waller county. One of our SCOH members used his personal aircraft to provide aerial photographs and timely spotting information to the Waller Country Fire Facebook Group.
