Noel Foundation
Members from the Soaring Club of Houston collaborate with the Noel Foundation because we feel that gliders can be a valuable component in science, technology, math and engineering education. Gliders are a means to motivate students in pursuing careers in aviation (the next generation of pilots) as well as in non-aviation areas.
Some of the possibilities that SCOH and the Noel Foundation are considering:
Gliders can be effective as a data-collection platforms for student/teacher research projects.
Glider activities could be linked to state educational standards.
Glider activities could be part of a teacher professional development (PD) program. The glider can serve as a learning device for teachers as a crew member in a data-collection mission, or similar activities.
