Houston Executive Airspace
Why does this matter?
Cross Country flights from both SCOH and GHSA routinely used Sport Flyers as a possible "go to" point if low in the area. The current tower controlled class E and the future class D that around Houston Executive could affect your transit into and out of Sport Flyers.
The Basics...
Houston Executive is also known as TME.
Located 23 miles south of SCOH and 13 miles northeast of GHSA
1 Oct 2014: Tower Opened
Sometime in 2014 or 2015, the Class D airspace will become effective. In the meantime, the airspace is class G but you are still required to contact the tower in certain areas - see the graphic to the left.
The current tower controlled class E and the future class D airspace has a notch (think Pac Man) cut out of the NW corner to accommodate Sport Flyers.
