Driving Directions from Houston

1. Follow Interstate 290 until passing to the north of Waller. Turn right (north) onto 362 for 5.5 miles until the 1488 intersection.

2. Turn left on 1488 and immediately turn right onto 1736.

3. Continue north on 1736 for 2.6 miles until it turns left, but continue straight (north) on Waller Gladish Rd when 1736 goes left (west).

4. Turn right (east) on Howell Rd which is 1.2 miles after the Waller Gladish junction with 1736.

5. The SCOH entrance is about 300 yds on the left (north side) of Howell road.

Once you enter our Driveway

Inside the entrance, stay on the gravel road as it goes about 100 yards to the east, then curves to the north another ½ mile, ending at our clubhouse on the right. Please stay within the parking and clubhouse area until a member can explain our operations. Our runways are all grass and therefore not always obvious to visitors; and landing gliders are silent!

*On the rare days when the winds are from the north, you will see a bunch of vehicles parked along the tree line soon after starting down our driveway. If you see vehicles there, we’re operating from the south end of the field and you can park along the tree line with the other vehicles, but stay within about 30’ of the trees to avoid interfering with flight operations.
