Solo

Things that need to be done before solo are listed below. For the most part, all of these activities need to be done simultaneously and it is not too early to do any of these tasks - get to work! You are the driving factor that ensures your progress. When you get stuck, ask your instructor. Read this article about 'Taking an Active Role in Your Flight Training'.

FLY

You should be flying every weekend when the weather permits. If you go two weeks between instructional flights, your flying skills regress and it will be difficult to advance by acquiring the skills that you need to be safe to solo.

STUDY

The SCOH syllabus has been created to allow you to study nearly everything that you need to know.

FAA PAPERWORK

You need to get your student pilot certificate. Get started by reading the FAA IACRA information at this link. You will need to connect with an instructor to finish the task. Instructions on how to fill out the FAA's website.

PRE-SOLO TEST

Complete the pre-solo test, LINK. This open book test needs to be completed and corrected to 100% along with an instructor before you solo. When you get stuck, submit your question for help to the new SCOH Student Google group. This test can and should completed on your time at home.
