Variation:

People are hardwired to run away from boredom. As a result, our world has accumulated a variety of recreations to keep us fresh and excitable. When we get bored with one type of piano sound, we can switch to a piano made by a different company; when we get bored with piano sound in general, we can switch to older versions of the keyboard family such as the harpsichord. We might even switch to something entirely different, such as the electric guitar. However, part of the fun in finding novelty is to know that the different pianos or the different keyboard instruments are actually supposed to be the same thing; it is this mix of similarities and differences that intrigues us, and this concert shall explore more of these musical variances with the aid of an album of photos taken by Christine Pang in colour and in black & white.  

The performance will run for about 2 hours 15 minutes, including intermission.

變奏：

人是怕悶的。千遍一律的事情會令我們失去興趣，所以我們的世界一直都累積著各樣的發明去吸引我們注意。假設我們開始對某一個牌子的鋼琴聲音感到煩厭，我們大可以試試其他的牌子；又或者我們是對鋼琴聲音本身感到疲倦，那我們還可以試試古鍵琴這類早期鍵盤樂器。當然，我們也可以試其他類型的樂器，例如是電子結他吧；但似乎我們的腦袋不單會追求變化，它更喜歡的是在相似的東西中找到不同、在不同的東西中找到共通點。我們將透過音樂會進一步探索音樂裡面一些既不同又有共通的事物，並借一輯由彭穎笙拍攝的黑白與彩色相片去幫助我們欣賞當中的微妙。

節目長約2小時15分鐘，包括中場休息。
