- Students will use appropriate terminology related to the periodic table and periodic law (B2.1)
- Students will understand the periodic law (B3.3)
- Hook: Elemental Funkiness Video
- Content: Lesson on the periodic table & periodic law. Provide students with background information about the parts of the periodic table and introduce the concepts of atomic radius, electron affinity, electronegativity and ionization energy in preparation for tomorrow’s activity. Each student should be provided with a periodic table. BLM 1-1 The Periodic Table (McGraw-Hill Ryerson Limited, 2011) is provided as an attachment at the bottom of the page.
