Assessment

While assessment is discussed throughout the lesson sequence, here is an overall picture of the assessment that can be used throughout the unit. Assessment is key to student success and it is important to provide students with formative assessments and plenty of feedback. Formative assessment can be done during every class, even if it is as simple as an observation or conversation. Summative assessment is assessment of student learning and is meant to assess the students achievement of the overall expectations of the unit.
