- students can contribute to keeping the Earth green
- air pollution lesson suggests ways in which to do this
Leadership in Learning Communities
- leadership is important to promote for students
- leadership can mean collaborating with other leaders
- collaborate during group work
- collaborate with the school’s Green Team or Biology classes
Professional Knowledge
- resources, technologies and instructional strategies should be up to date
- lessons should be kept up to date, integrating new instructional strategies
- where technology and pedagogy are involved, the teacher should be working towards increasing knowledge
- using the technologies available within the school as a resource
Ongoing Professional Learning
- teacher should be committed to being active in research, collaboration and an overall gaining of knowledge
- teachers should collaborate with others including the teachers, vice-principals, principal and other staff
Professional Practice
- appropriate assessments and evaluations are used
- i.e. quizzes, labs, tests, conversations, homework checks, etc.
- teacher will use student self-assessments for reflection on teaching practices
