The Sons of Liberty were a secret organization in the American colony. They were against the British laws and taxes. So, the Stamp Act occurred and because of that little groups of men started to get against the British, that's how the Sons of Liberty formed. If they wanted to meet they had to do it secretly because the British could arrest him. The first "revolution" that they made was against the Stamp Act. The Sons of Liberty was also part of the Boston Tea Party. This was that the British had put the tax on tea, so what the Sons of Liberty did was to throw the boxes of tea into the ocean. Samuel Adams, John Adams, Benedict Arnold, John Hancock, Patrick Henry, Joseph Warren, and Paul Revere, were part of the Sons of Liberty. (Not impressive, that is obvious, hahaha, just kidding)
This was of the flags that represented the Sons of Liberty. This represented that they wanted to defend the Republic. It has a snake and the American flag on the background. This also represented that they wanted freedom for America.
This is another flag of the Sons of Liberty.This is my favorite flag because in each part of the snakes represent one of the 13 colonies. It's curious, on the bottom is says "JOIN or DIE". This is like saying if you don't join us probably you will die. The flag itself is simple, but if you go into the details it goes into meanings.
This video shows what was the purpose of the Sons of Liberty. This is like the "ending season" of their work. But, in this video, you will see how they accomplished their work and what do they do to work together. That's why I chose this video because it show the unity that all the members had even at the end.
