Minute man was the name given to the people in the American Army. This men were the first ones to fight against the British for Independence. They needed to be attentive because they could have been called at anytime. They were trained for battle and were put in a test almost every week. Most of them didn't have fighting clothes, they just fight with normal clothes. The militia was necessary to defend the colony/colonies. The militia needed men that were loyal and enthusiastic about what they were doing. All of this was something new to the colonist but they still learned it.
Probably, this is how the minutemen looked. They had their gun in one had and pants with boots.They would have a t-shirt or a polo. They would always wear that brownish color because that was the color that represented them. If he had something blue, people would think he is from the British and his teammates will probably kill him. Also, they didn't have military clothes, so that's why you see them with the same kind of clothes; because some of them were farmers silversmith... etc. So, that's why they wear this type of clothes.
This picture shows when all the minutemen are all together prepared to fight. You see the drum guy, the ones that are going to shoot, the commander... etc. As you see, most of the have that brownish-greenish color. All of them have their guns up but attentive to start fighting. This is how a minutemen army would look like.
This video is a battle at Concord and Lexington. I know that I talked about this battle before, but I just want you to look at the minutemen fighting against the British. When you see the video, you will see their clothes and their tactics against the British. In one time, the minutemen became smarter than the British. Incredible!
