Cub Scout Themes: Family Involvement Tips
-plan on extra supplies that siblings can participate
-can have siblings-specific teams
-helps recruit siblings
-use older siblings to babysit the really young siblings
-specifically ask families to attend
-get parent involved in committees, ask for help on 2 events
-parents without scouting experience sometimes feel they are not needed
-pack and den yells; have a family yell
-awards for family percentage participation
-Geocache as families, share at Pack meeting
-Each person gets 3’ rope. Knot together to make circle. Lean back using circle as support
Getting family members involved or non-participating scouts
-be specific on the ask
-give people a call
-helicopter parents: try to give kids space
-helicopter parents: harness their energy for something else
