Pam as Council Training Chair, oversees Adult Training. Helps the district chairs. Oversees Wood Badge, Powderhorn, Kodiak Challenge, and NYLT. Council can send trainers to your unit for in-person training. If you have new ideas for training, contact Pam. For example, BALOO and ILOS are not offered together, and we may create a follow-up course. Pam is looking for people to help with the council training committee; please contact her (or contact Will Cover and he will forward).
NYLT is designed to help your youth become better leaders and SPLs. There is also an SPL handbook that can be purchased to help adults provide guidance to SPLs.
Mark Bertsche, Council Commissioner: This is a transformational year. Hats off to the staff for making through the transition of this past year. Mark is looking forward to a great year. We need unit commissioners. Nominate people; consider older people who used to be involved. Survey forthcoming about how we can build a better program. Please complete survey. Will be no more than 10 questions to keep it short. Reporting back from national meeting: lots of discussion on looming national lawsuits. However, national scout executive is laser focused on producing a great program looking forward. Talk to Mark if you want to further discuss the full story. The financial health of scouting is very strong.
