Looking for volunteers to run recruitment event at libraries on Sat. Nov 17. 10:30a-12:30p. Eisley and Walt; 2p-5p. Williams (in Arnold Heights), Anderson, Gere, Bennet Martin.
Pinewood Derby. New unified rules for all district derbies. Will go up on website shortly. A council derby will now follow the district derby. Each Pack can now send 12 racers (which could be divided one per age level per gender, or could be determined however a pack decides). No outlaw category at district level (in part because siblings can now officially race).
There is a glitch in re-charter (they are working on it). Adult partners for Lion and Tigers are listed in the unit, even though they are not a registered adult leader. Currently the program is going to warn you that those adult partners will be dropped. A fix is in progress, and you will be informed by council when that fix is in place. Wait to submit re-charter if you are in that situation.

Big events theme: Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold. One or the other is a good time to do Friends of Scouting (FOS) presentation. We're looking for new presenters.
Pinewood Derby: encourage Cubs to build their own car. Can do a Pinewood Derby workshop, for example, to make a bandsaw available. Can go to Associate Builders and Contractors (ABC) facility for a heated space on Sun Valley Blvd. Talk to Ann Clutty. Can do outlaws at the pack level. For a large pack, do a check-in the night before, like Districts.
Blue & Gold birthday of Scouts in February. Crossovers often occur in February. Timeline for Blue & Gold planning. Fun ideas: can get checkered neckerchief. Can make pinewood neckerchief slide: clothes pin (remove metal, turn inside out, and glue together), circle of PVC, two beads for wheels and glue.
Script for Pack Meeting Plan, from Philmont Training. Includes songs, skits, and run-ons.
Please consider attending Wood Badge. Packs may help pay for it; Council has scholarships. Good general leadership training. Great networking. Lots of fun.
