Wellcare, one of the Heritage Health Nebraska Medicaid health plan, will cover the BSA annual enrollment fee for members (K-12). The other plans do not cover BSA, only WellCare (can ask to see their health care plan to clarify. Some Medicaid recipients may choose other health plans. Wellcare members complete a voucher form (one-side English and one-side Spanish) and that gets turned in with rechartering by the Troop/Pack/Crew.
Council dinner and district dinner, which honor volunteers with awards. Rick Wolzen is doing a survey to understand why people do not attend and/or what we should do with the dinners. Tall to Rick to submit your thoughts.
Service hours. Units need to enter hours for Journal to Excellence. How-to videos are posted on the Salt Valley Roundtable website. Need a number for your unit. You can get that from Brooks or front office.
Only 25% of volunteers have completed new YPT. Needs to be completed by end of September. Otherwise will not be current. Everyone can do online. But can be completed in the classroom during group sessions are available every Tues and Thurs in Sept.
Recharter. Get everyone to do YPT, because they won't be current anymore in October. Ray has personalized packets for units to start thinking about recharter. Can't log in until Oct 1 at the earliest. Nov 16 is due date. Read through the whole packet in order to save later problems. Common mistake: when starting the process, take roster from Scouting, and then can modify it—However, any new applicants or address changes or training, won't be reflected in the recharter copy with which you are working. Work-around is to refresh data by taking a new grab of the roster.
Wed, Sept 12, 7pm at OEC. Presentation on creating girl troops. Will address all of the questions that people have in order to prepare for February 2018.
Alan has resigned (during his medical leave of absence) as District Executive for Salt Valley. Rob will play role of interim.
Wood Badge Banquet will be Friday, Oct 19, at St. Mark's Methodist Church. Entrees will be pork, chicken, or vegetarian. Online registration will open shortly. $20 per meal, part of which will raise scholarship money. There is a silent auction—please post on Wood Badge Facebook page. Still looking for donations for silent auction.
