Tax time: Can deduct expenses for Pack for which you don't get reimbursed. Cash, property, uniforms, out of pocket items, driving to and from events (14 cents for charitable miles). Need receipt for single donations for $250 or more (and should say that no goods or received for this donation). Popcorn purchases are partially deductible—see Trails End website. Can't deduct time. However, most people will not be deducting expenses this year. Bryan on Scouting post: https://blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2018/02/06/tax-time/
Den Doodles and Den Flags. Can use beads to track attendance, behavior. Can make your own beads out of clay, wood, or rolled magazine paper. Can add den flags, which gets youth thinking forward to Patrols. Base can be cut wood, or can with plaster of paris. Can hide den flags in advance of meeting—have to find before you can sit down for the Pack meeting.
Den Yells: can be used as call-outs for attendance. Can be done in cadence. Google "scout cadence".
Cubbie: Gets passed around for best uniform inspection. Can be anything: a blue plushed bear, tin-can version in Cub Scout leader guide, bowling pin with painted face and neckerchief.
Can get creative with awards for youth or adult volunteers. For example, "monumental award" can be a mint. Smore volunteers like you—give them a smore.

Cub Scout Leader How to Guide has lots of great ideas.
Ideas for Dale: Ropes, have them put nails in a plastic bottle, Cups/spoons/packing peanuts relay, Soda bottle filled with sand & cut out toss rings from plastic containers lids makes a game, with yarn loosely tied between wrists, with big loops, intertwined with other person, have to keep three feet on floor (answer is to slip through loop around wrist).
SIgn up for Wood Badge. March and April. Have to attend both weekends. Only happens every 2 years in Cornhusker Council. https://scoutingevent.com/324-22222
