Youth are generally really excited, but Cub Scouts can be a big commitment from adults. Therefore promote long-term growth and development benefit to parents.

Can be used as a handout.
Example handout is linked at the bottom of the page.
Also advertised college scholarship dollars available for Eagle Scouts to perspective families.
Chalking advertisements are good. Might be neighboring households.
Nearby houses may post Cub Scout yard signs.
Personal invitations with names of youth handwritten can be effective. Include contact phone number for parent.
Make sure to let parent know that they are central to the program. For example "Family campout" or "Family picnic". So people know it is not a drop-off and walk away.
Bryan on Scouting Blog has discussion of basketball star and Eagle Scout.
Cub Scout Day of Awesomeness (Sept 25 and 26 at OEC)
-Siblings that have not already signed up: $5
-Returning scouts: $5
-New scouts: no cost
Online registration is being advocated. Have to enable this in the BeAScout.org site. Application and dues are all completed online. Online only asks them to pay through to the end of Dec 31.
Recharter this year will be a little different this year. Will start to align with the school year instead of the calendar year. More information will to follow. The same this year, but will shift in future years.
$66 annual fee per year for youth. In addition, one-time $25 initiation fee for new members. Therefore a new member pays a prorated for of $66 + $25. For example September sign-up is $22 + $25 = $47. Then they will owe $66 in November for the 2021 recharter.
September will focus on Popcorn success strategies. May want to invite your popcorn kernel.
