NIU-Today 2019: " Milivoje M. Kostic, professor emeritus in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, presented his latest work at Tsinghua University in Beijing (19-20 June) and Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in Xi’an, China (20-23 June 2019). The renowned Chinese colleagues have personally invited Kostic to present his latest work related to ever-increasing challenges to the Second Law of thermodynamics, including his current activity to critically analyze and demystify “Heat flowing from cold to hot without external intervention by using a ‘thermal inductor’,” a recent Science Advances paper published by a group of physicists from the University of Zurich in Switzerland."

["Energy is a fundamental property of a physical system and refers to its potential to maintain a system identity or structure (forced mass-energy field in space) and to influence changes (via forced-displacement interactions) with other systems by imparting work (forced directional displacement) or heat (forced chaotic displacement/motion of a system molecular or related structures). Energy exists in many forms: electromagnetic (including light), electrical, magnetic, nuclear, chemical, thermal, and mechanical (including kinetic, elastic, gravitational, and sound) ...
