Biblical Allusions:
Read the Bible itself
Preferably the King James Version (1611) to acquaint yourself with Elizabethan English (not because it's the most accurate translation, because it's certainly not) or the New Revised Standard Version, which is the scholarly consensus as the most "accurate" translation to the original languages.
Recommended reading selections: Genesis, Exodus, Job, Psalm 23, and Luke.
Disclaimer: reading this is not required nor is it for religious purposes. This is recommended as a means of understanding first hand the constant allusions to this seminal Western text in other works of literature.
