BAGIS-Pro uses configuration files for many of its tools. The master configuration file is located on the ebagis server at https://ebagis.geog.pdx.edu/api/rest/desktop/settings/bagis-pro/. These settings are subject to change, so please check the server for the current settings. This file contains information for the online webservices that are used to clip BAGIS data layers and parameters for the map package export tool.
BAGIS-PRO uses a local copy of the BatchSettings section of the master file in json format so that these parameters can be edited by the analyst to override the default settings. This file named 'batch_tool_settings.json' is located in the BAGIS folder in a user's AppData folder. Please consult Windows documentation if you are not sure of the location of your AppData folder. We recommend using a text editor like notepad to edit this file if desired. To synchronize the local batch settings file with the server settings, simply delete it from the BAGIS folder. BAGIS-PRO will download a new copy the next time it is started.
BAGIS-PRO shares some settings with BAGIS V3. This configuration file is located on the ebagis server at https://ebagis.geog.pdx.edu/api/rest/desktop/settings/. BAGIS-Pro does not maintain a local copy of this file.
These are the elements in the batch tool settings file:
AnnualRunoffDataDescr: The text description of the annual runoff data provided by NWCC that includes the year. This description will be updated in the master configuration file on the server when new annual runoff data is posted.
AnnualRunoffDataField: The column name in the csv file (identified with the AnnualRunoffItemId) that contains the runoff data to be displayed on the title page. This column name may change when new annual runoff data is posted.
AnnualRunoffItemId: The annual runoff average data is stored in a csv file in ArcGIS online. The ItemId is the unique identifier assigned to each file by ArcGIS online and allows BAGIS-PRO to retrieve and download the file. This file is downloaded each time a report is generated to insure the data is current.
AoiPrecipFile: The geodatabase and layer name that are used for the Precipitation Distribution maps and charts. At this time only a single layer file is supported.
AspectDirectionsCount: The number of aspect directions used for the aspect map and charts. 4, 8, and 16 directions are valid values.
CriticalPrecipTotalMaxVolPct: This is a configurable element of the Critical Precipitation Zones calculation. This is the maximum combined total of the % Volume from zones that can included in the critical precipitation zones. The % Volume values are added in descending order for each zone until this maximum is met.
DefaultDemInterval: Interval used when generating charts if the interval used when creating the elevation zones layer is not available in the analysis.xml file.
DemDisplayUnits: The elevation in maps, charts, and tables is displayed in these units.
DemUnits: The elevation in the dem is stored in these units.
EBagisServer: The ebagis server url is used for the following functions. 1) Downloading the batch settings file from the server to make a local copy 2) Finding the url for clipping data layers and saving off the data layer metadata 3) Finding the url for the pourpoint layer when querying for station triplet and station name 4) Finding the url for the surfaces layer when reclipping to support sites outside of the AOI boundary
MasterAoiList: The Master Aoi List is a feature service that hosts important information about an AOI. The Batch Publishing process queries the NWCC Name, the Winter Start and End months, and the HUC from this feature service. The Winter Start and End months are used for the Winter Precipitation map as the definition of winter can vary by AOI.
MaximumSitesAllowed: If there are a large number of sites on the maps, the maps become difficult to see. This setting is the maximum number of sites permitted for the batch tool to run. If the number of sites exceeds this limit, the batch tool cannot run.
MinElevationZonesCount: The minimum number of elevation zones allowed on the Elevation Distribution map. These elevation intervals are the options for this map (in meters): 50, 100, 200, 250, 500, 1000. BAGIS-PRO selects the largest elevation interval that results in at least the MinElevationZonesCount number of intervals.
NLCDLandCoverLayerItemId: BAGIS-PRO stores the complex layer symbology as a layer (.lyr) file in ArcGIS online. The ItemId is the unique identifier assigned to each file by ArcGIS online and allows BAGIS-PRO to retrieve and download the file. This layer files is stored locally in the AppData BAGIS folder. To refresh the layer file from the server, delete the local copy.
PdfExportResolution: This setting is used by the Batch Publishing and Export Map Package tools. The units are dpi.
PrecipBufferDistance: Used with the PrecipBufferUnits element to specify the buffer distance when clipping PRISM and SNODAS layers. This distance can be overriden when using the BAGIS-PRO 'Clip Layers' function.
PrecipBufferUnits: Used with the PrecipBufferDistance element to specify the buffer distance when clipping PRISM and SNODAS layers. Valid values are meters, feet, kilometers, and miles. This distance can be overriden when using the BAGIS-PRO 'Clip Layers' function.
PrecipZonesCount: The number of precipitation zones displayed on the Precipitation Distribution map. BAGIS-PRO divides the precipitation data range by PrecipZonesCount to calculate the precipitation zones interval. PRISM precipitation data is calculated and displayed in inches.
PublicAndTribalLandsLayerItemId: BAGIS-PRO stores the complex layer symbology as a layer (.lyr) file in ArcGIS online. The ItemId is the unique identifier assigned to each file by ArcGIS online and allows BAGIS-PRO to retrieve and download the file. This layer files is stored locally in the AppData BAGIS folder. To refresh the layer file from the server, delete the local copy.
Publisher: The value of this field is appears near the top of the title page in a map package document. This field can be overwritten when using the Batch Publishing tool.
RoadsAnalysisBufferDistance: Used with the RoadsAnalysisBufferUnits element to specify the buffer distance when buffering the roads layer. The buffered roads layer is used for potential site locations analysis.
RoadsAnalysisBufferUnits: Used with the RoadsAnalysisBufferDistance element to specify the buffer distance when buffering the roads layer. The buffered roads layer is used for potential site locations analysis. Valid values are meters, feet, kilometers, and miles.
SeasonalPrecipLayoutItemId: BAGIS-PRO stores some complex Page Layouts as ArcGIS online files. The ItemId is the unique identifier assigned to each file by ArcGIS online and allows BAGIS-PRO to retrieve and download the file. These layout files are stored locally in the AppData BAGIS folder. To refresh a layout file from the server, delete the local copy. This ItemId is for the SEASONAL PRECIPITATION CONTRIBUTION 4-pane map.
