All Members' Meeting Friday 6th March at 11.00 am in Room 4 at the ICC will include a talk by Dan Swinton from Greenpeace
We meet on Week Two Thursdays at 12.25
Our group has a good balance of Shakespeare enthusiasts and those who simply want to know more about this fascinating playwright.
We explore Shakespeare’s plays by reading them together and discussing what we’ve read. You don’t have to read if you prefer not to – by all means just sit and listen. We try to make sure everyone has a go at the big parts and we don’t stick rigidly to gender roles. We bring our own paper or electronic copies of the text to the meetings.
It has been interesting to reread the great tragedies that teach us so much about human nature but also to explore some of the lesser-known plays.
Newcomers most welcome.

In the first week of March we will be completing our reading of Henry VI part 1. We will then turn our attention to one of Shakespeare’s main tragedies, Hamlet, which the RSC are bringing to Nottingham this month. Why is this play which ends with a ridiculous amount of bodies on stage so well thought of? Join us and find out.
