Opera

We meet from 11.30 to 12.30 on Week One Thursdays.

We show and discuss operas on DVD, usually about one act at a time.  Thus most operas take three sessions.  I give a synopsis of the plot beforehand, and a recap. during the intermediate sessions, to enable anyone who has missed the previous session to catch up.  Mostly, we have played works in Italian, because they are popular, but we are flexible.  We endeavour to intersperse old favourites with less well-known operas.

We have now said farewell to Falstaff and in April we look forward to finding out who the latest damsel in distress may be. Supply your own handkerchiefs and tissues. They will be needed!
