A recipe handed down from Nana Gordon.
Ingredients:
4 tab butter
200mls cugar
2 tab golden syrup
1 egg
2 cups plain flour
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 des powdered ginger (1/2 tsp spice 7 + 1 tsp cinnamon as an alternative)
Method:
cream butter and sugar
fold in other ingredients
drop in rough heaps on a lined tray
cook in moderate oven until browned
