Fun Facts

  • The Brewers were 6 and 7 in regular season bobblehead giveaway games this season.

  • This year's Season Seat Holder bobble is in honor Corey representing the Brewers in the 2017 All Star Game. The Brewers offered one bobblehead exclusively per season ticket account. He was available for pickup April 16th to the end of the season. Before his bobble could even be picked up he was injured. On April 5th he injured his hamstring in a non save situation against the Cubs. He returned from the DL on May 9th.

  • Eric Thames did not start on his bobblehead day. He did come in to pinch hit in the 7th inning with bases loaded. He did not get a hit, but his ground ball was misplayed, driving in an unearned run, adding to the Brewers lead and helping them solidify the win.

  • Braun Solo Star Wars Day fell exactly on May the Fourth Star Wars Day this year. On May 25th, Solo: A Star Wars Story hit theaters, thus it made sense to have a Han Solo focus for this year's Star Wars bobble theme.

  • The Chorizo in Mariachi garb given away on Cinco de Mayo night is the first Brewer bobble given away made by Index Promotions. Up to this point, all other bobbles had been made by BD&A/BDA or AGP. Although, last year the Jedi Keon bobble did not have any identifiable markings to name a company.

  • The Travis Shaw bobblehead is made in honor of his nickname, Mayor of DDC. The detail in this bobble is unique because he is holding an acceptance speech on the podium: Interesting note, the box of the bobblehead says "BDA Sports" on it. This is the first time I have seen BDA add Sports to their name. However the name painted on the bottom of the base still says just "BDA".

  • Orlando Arcia struggled this season for the Brewers. Before the Gauntlet bobblehead, he was sent down to the minor leagues for a short stint, but was back up to the major league club when the bobble was given away. 7 days after the bobble game he was sent back to the minors for the second time that season. Like the Shaw bobble, the box says "BDA Sports", but "BDA" only is painted on the bottom of the base. 42 autographed versions of the Gauntlet bobble were given away in the special Associated Bank Check Deck ticket package.

  • The Sugar Skull bobblehead was given away on Cerveceros night. This is the first time that "BDA Sports" appears printed on the bottom of the bobble base instead of BD&A or BDA. BDA Sports appeared on the last two Brewers bobble boxes but had yet to be painted on the base with "Sports" added. I reached out to BDA and asked what the "Sports" means. A marketing director replied that "BDA Sports is the largest business unit within the parent company, BDA. There is so much we do in sports besides bobbleheads, we wanted to get the word out, hence coming up with BDA Sports."

  • The Hamilton Porter bobblehead is in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Sandlot movie coming out. During 2018 Spring Training some of the Brewers (Christian "Benny the Jet" Yelich, Eric "Squints" Sogard, Chase "Tommy Repeat" Anderson, Stephen "Hambino" Vogt, Brett Phillips, Josh Hader, Jett Bandy, Hernan Perez, Jeremy Jeffress) made a viral video reenacting a scene from the movie.

  • Besides the hamstring injury, Corey Knebel continued to have an up and down season. He was sent down to the minor leagues on Aug 24th, shortly after his GoT bobblehead giveaway to try and get back on track. He returned to the Brewers on September 2nd. He did have a very successful postseason in 2018.

  • Interestingly, for the Ed Sedar bobblehead this is the first time you could see the SGA bobblehead through a plastic window on the box. All the other bobbleheads that I can think of were not viewable in the box. (Besides the 2001 & 2002 Pepsi Mail Ins, which were not an SGA)
