Fun Facts

  • The Brewers were 3-2 in bobblehead giveaway games this season.

  • The Standing Bernie is the hardest birthday Bernie to find in its original box. This is the first bobblehead given away for fans purchasing the birthday package during the season. I have never officially confirmed which seasons he was given away, but I have some confirmation for as early as 2003. And I would assume that continued into 2004. So, my best guess is he was given away from 2003-2004. By 2005 they were giving away a Sliding Bernie variation.

  • The movie, Mr. 3000 was filmed in Miller Park. The Mr. 3,000 bobblehead was allegedly given away to cast and crew something during the filming. Because he was probably given away at Miller Park during filming, I count him in my SGA collection.

  • Hammonds and Molitor were the first All Fan giveaways for bobbleheads.

  • The Jeffrey Hammonds Bobblehead was given away AFTER he was released by the Brewers on June 4th. He then signed with the San Fransisco Giants by the end of June, and was playing for the Giants when the Brewers gave his bobblehead away. Because of this, it is a little harder to find Jeffrey Hammonds bobbleheads with a box.

  • The 2003 Paul Molitor was given out and is the first bobblehead given away that came in two variations at the same game. Most fans got the white uniform. But 4,000 lucky fans randomly got the Powder Blue uniform. And 100 lucky fans found a voucher in their box to get an autographed version. In the early bobblehead giveaways I have heard that the Brewers gave away some autographed versions of the giveaway. Molitor is the first that I can find evidence to prove this. (See photo) It mostly seems like the certificates were in the box but got turned in to pick up the autographed bobble, so there is really no way to verify if your autographed version was given away at the game. But starting in 2015, autographed versions of bobbles could be proven if the ticket stub to the All-Inclusive Areas was saved with the bobble.

  • 2003 was also the first year the Brewers gave away 3 mini bobbleheads to the first 10,000 children 16 and under through the gates at Miller Park. The fourth bobblehead (Hot Dog) was needed to complete the set and could be picked up at Sentry Food stores for a week-long promotion for buying 3 lbs or more of Klement's sausages. The three bobbleheads given away at the park are hard to come by in their original boxes.
