2001

There was a set of these bobbleheads given away and the Stadium and a different set if you mailed in for them. SGA vs Mail-In came in different boxes. Collectors, and sellers, often confuse the mail-ins with the official Stadium Give Aways (SGA). Besides the boxes being obviously different for the mail-ins, the Jenkins and Yount mail in bobbles actually say their names on the front of the base, instead of Pick N Save and Piggly Wiggly. As for the Ueckers both mail in and SGA have his name on the front. But the bottom of all 3 mail in bobbles are slightly different. The mail versions of all three have MLBP 2001 printed on the bottom and the SGAs do not. This is the only way (besides the box) to identify which Uecker you are looking at. (See photos below)

Fun Facts:

  • The Brewers were 1-2 in bobblehead giveaway games this season.

  • 2001 was the inaugural season for Miller Park. It was also the first time the Brewers gave away bobbleheads to fans walking through the gates. The three bobbles were given away to the first 10,000 fans ages 14 and under on their respective giveaway night.

  • Starting the tradition of not having a good game on your bobblehead day, Geoff Jenkins was 0-3 with a walk. During one of his at bats he grounded into a double play. But the Brewers did win the game!

  • This would not be the last time fans could pick up a Uecker and Yount bobblehead. But the first version is always unique and special.
