THANKS, LINKS, DISCLAIMERS AND ATTRIBUTIONS
During the construction of this site our team came across a wealth of information from various websites around the world, a few of which we thought you too may be interested in.
Robert Schwandl's - www.urbanrail.net - is an absolute minefield of metro system information. Robert's site goes into slightly more detail about things of a technical nature than we do and provides a gallery of superb images of each of the systems. Robert also runs an urban rail blog which gives up to the minute travel advice and news items pertaining to various metro systems around the world. There is a link to his blog on his website's homepage.
Wikipedia's page - List_of_metro_systems - lists many of the world's metro systems in alphabetical country order, along with links to pages with more in depth information about each of the metro systems mentioned.
For those of you interested in North Korea here is a great website - Pyongyang metro.com - which gives the reader a wealth of information on the history, facts and statistics of the Pyongyang Metro. There is also a large photo gallery of this amazingly, beautiful system located in one of the world's most secretive and little known country.
During our research we were also very fortunate to find - mapsof.net - which allowed us to use some of the maps from their very extensive website for use here at Metro Systems of the World. As well as letting you know about this great website, which has thousands of maps from all over the world in it's vast collection, we would also like to take this opportunity to convey our grateful thanks to both the owner and team at Mapsof.
The images used in this website for each metro system logo, are copies of the copy written property of each relevant metro system. We have used low resolution copies, which render them inappropriate for reprinting and therefore the usage of them does not pose a problem in aiding media piracy, nor does it detract from the owners ability to further profit from it.
None of the metro system maps contained within these pages are to scale or copies of the owning, metro system company, but low resolution copies, implemented only to show the general outline of each system and the location of each system's stations.
All of the photo images on this site have been taken from Wikipedia's vast collection, of which each one has been fully attributed on it's corresponding page within this site.
All the information shown on this website has been searched from various public domain sources, most of which has proved to be, in our opinion, reliable accounts of factual information. However in the event of any of this information being less than accurate the editor of Metro Systems of the World would like to point out that we can not be held responsible for any data entry errors or inconsistencies found during the construction of this website. However any typos, spelling mistakes or other such mistakes are of course all our own work.
The hotel affiliate used on this website is - Hotelscombined.com - an Australian hotel search engine which has been in operation since 2005. Their website has access to over two million hotel properties around the world, is available in thirty nine languages and accepts one hundred and twenty worldwide currencies.
Their pages enable visitors to search for hotels, not only by country name, but by the name of a resort, a city, an airport, a railway station or a tourist attraction, therefore please feel free to use our links with the utmost confidence.
