The Book of Leviticus

This series on Leviticus was prepared during Term 2, 2014 for the Anglican Parish of Mulgoa. A few ministers have preached through this beforehand and I have been particularly helped by their sermons. Jeff Read preached through the first half at NextGen, and I made sure I took really good notes. Sometimes an illustration Jeff used was just too good, and I'm sure he will recognise it. Steve Gooch's sermon on Leviticus 18, that our preaching group reviewed,was also a great stimulation for thinking through the important issues raised by Leviticus 18 and 20. Thanks Steve, Adam and Andrew, each of whom have recently preached through Leviticus. Tremper Longman's very helpful study, Immanuel in our Place: The Gospel in Israel's Worship is essential reading for anyone who wants to synthesise the material in the Pentateuch so as to get an idea how the sacrificial system worked in practise.
