LLF has partnered with state of Gujarat Council of Education Research and Training (GCERT), for strengthening school based comprehensive evaluation in 180 government schools across two districts Gandhinagar and Sabarkantha (Prantij block) for classes I to VIII. Key objectives:
To strengthen implementation of School based Comprehensive Evaluation.
To increase Students Learning Level outcomes by 12%
To create a scalable, sustainable model for state-wide roll-out
State at what stage of CCE: School Based Comprehensive Evaluation (SCE) exists in the state, 30% weight age to co- scholastic and 70% to scholastic areas. Framework exists but implementation is a challenge and learning levels are low. Baseline learning levels:
PROGRAM DETAILS:
Situational analysis- to understand the existing teaching/ learning situation. Findings fed into content design and development and implementation strategies.
Capacity enhancement - of teachers, Principals, CRCs and BRCs through trainings and workshops. Bridge Corse material; Worksheets for students; Subject Enrichment worksheets for students provided for teachers and students.
Intensive on-site monitoring and mentoring - Field facilitators deployed, with one field facilitator mentoring 7 schools. Focus on catalyzing learner-centric classroom practices and demonstrating how classroom practices lead to increase in student learning levels.
Institutionalizing mechanisms for CRC, BRCs, that monitor academic indicators
Impact assessment through Baseline and Endline tests
Key focus on building scalability and sustainability:
MoU with state academic body with defined roles and responsibilities
Robust project governance structure for state involvement and participation at all levels – Core Advisory Group headed by Principal Secy, Education; Steering and Monitoring Committee headed by SPD
Capacity enhancement of education administrators – SRPs, CRC, BRC

Himachal Pradesh
LLF has partnered with state of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Himachal Pradesh, for strengthening continuous and comprehensive evaluation in 200 government schools across four districts Shimla, Solan, Bilaspur and Kinnaur for classes I to VIII. Key objectives:
To make the states RTE compliant on implementation of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation.
To increase Students Learning Level outcomes by 12%
To create a scalable, sustainable model for state-wide roll-out
Assessment Scenario: Primary focus is on completing the syllabus with a high focus on rote memorization. CCE was more about elaborate documentation and not integrated in the teaching/ learning processes. Baseline learning levels:
PROGRAM DETAILS:
Situational analysis- to understand the existing teaching/ learning situation. Findings fed into content design and development and implementation strategies.
Capacity enhancement - of teachers, Principals, State Resource persons through trainings and workshops. Assessment worksheets provided for all classes, all subjects and all chapters. Teacher evaluation checklists made simpler and doable to reduce focus on documentation.
Intensive on-site monitoring and mentoring - Field facilitators deployed, with one field facilitator mentoring 5 schools. Focus on catalyzing learner-centric classroom practices and demonstrating how classroom practices lead to increase in student learning levels.

To make the states RTE compliant on implementation of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation.
To increase Students Learning Level outcomes by 12%
To create a scalable, sustainable model for state-wide roll-out
Assessment Scenario: The evaluation mechanism followed by the Jharkhand Elementary school education system is primarily through summative tests. Primary focus is on completing the syllabus with a high focus on rote memorization. Baseline learning levels:
