About Gyana Shakti Project
Project Gyana Shakti is an endeavor to bring about a qualitative change in private schools catering to the needs of a wide spectrum of students and teachers belonging to various levels of schools. The Project seeks to develop a sustainable and scalable model for capacity building and school improvement, with a strong focus on improving learning outcomes of students while unleashing the power of knowledge.

1. SKILL BUILDING IN PRIMARY CLASSES (1 TO 5)
The future of the society depends on the ability of its children to think analytically, creatively and to be a life long learner. It is important to instill all these 21 st century skills in children when they are young enough, as habits begin early. The aim of this programme is to help the present generation to understand themselves and their world better and to prepare them with adequate tools to maximize their own innate potential to become a global citizen.
2. English Proficiency Development Program: It is a group of activities to improve LSRW skills in students which result in better communication skills.
3. Math Enhancement Program: It is a comprehensive set of creative manipulatives based on research-based pedagogical guidelines to improve the understanding of mathematical concepts. Lesson Plans and training is given for effective resources usage and concept building.
Professional Development of Teachers for 21st Century:
• This programme aims at empowering teachers by equipping them with a vast repertoire of latest tools and techniques based on CCE through interactive workshops preparing them to "Teach for Understanding."
• The objective of this program is to help teachers effectively implement instructional strategies to help diverse set of learners, learn better. Relevant content will be given to the teachers for reference.
Above all Resource Person intervention for the successful implementation of the Project by visiting the school once a week for whole day (4 days +1 day for Professional Development workshop for teachers in a month) is an add on.
Areas of intervention
• Training and implementation of Math kit will be monitored by RP on regular basis to ensure increase in learning outcomes and improvement in concept building.
Training and guiding the English teachers in the effective implementation of LSRW skills in students.
Observation of teachers to track the transfer of workshop learning to students.
• Regular meetings with school Management/ Principal for improvisations in the school.
• 2 parent orientation programs will be conducted in the school premises to educate the parents about their positive approach towards the child and school.
Overall supervision of project implementation, documenting and reporting will be a joint effort by both Gyana Shakthi Resource Person and school coordinator.
Duration of the project – One year.(can be extended further on request by the school)
