Learning Links Foundation’s Science Promotion
Learning Links Foundation through its Science focused programs aims to equip the teachers and students with the skills and resources and prepare them for success in today’s global economy.
To achieve its vision it has formulated a Scientific Advisory Board, to help educators foster the next generation of innovators and inspire better learning and greater discovery. Understanding that in the emerging global scenario it is important to provide the youth with cognitive skills that would help them to solve problems, take advantage of the challenges that will confront them, promote discovery and innovation, the Foundation took an initiative to formulate a Scientific Advisory Board that would work towards re energizing science education and help rekindle the interest for the subject.
This Scientific Advisory Board known as Council for Advancing Science Education (CASE) comprises of eminent scientists of National repute.
In addition to the above the Foundation promotes innovation through a variety of Programs. Some of the initiatives are:
Professional Development for Teachers – Through a specially designed course, the Foundation promotes the spirit of inquiry and helps science teachers present their curricula from an inquiry based perspective to foster the spirit of research and innovation among their students.
Nurturing the spirit of Innovation through Science Fairs - The Foundation promotes and nurtures the spirit of innovation amongst school children in India, by encouraging them to participate in National & International Science Fairs. Each year, the Foundation through its regional program coordinators and senior scientists reach out to students, teachers and schools and encourage them to come up with research based science projects. These projects are then reviewed by an eminent jury and domain experts and the shortlisted entries are showcased in an annual National Fair. More than 25000 students benefitted from this program in the last one year
The SCIMA Digital Enhancement Program (A Science Maths and Digital Literacy Enhancement Project) - The program has been designed to improve instruction and academic performance in science and mathematics-related subjects at secondary schools. The program has provided a vast repository of digital resources for teachers & students, created a platform for students to share and collaborate and through specially designed activities focuses on the development of skills among students that includes the ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and drive advancements in science and technology.
The initiative has been successful in igniting the scientific temperament and the spark of innovation in the students by providing a 21st century learning environment. It has generated enormous developmental impact on all kinds of stakeholders associated with it and the impact on the ground has set a benchmark for the schools in the neighbourhood to provide quality education.
