Scrap metal collection.

The final date in the Kickhams GAA Club fundraising “Free Scrap Metal Collection” in Kickham Park Dundrum which has been a great success is on this Saturday the 2nd of July. Strictly from 2.00pm to 6.00pm each day.Remember if you cannot bring your metal to the collection point, we will gladly collect it from you, just contact any of the numbers below. We would urge all members to get involved in this effort to raise much needed funds for your club.NO CHARGE. Help clean up your environment, and at no cost to you.

What we want: All types of metal i.e.: cars, farm machinery, lead acid car & tractor batteries, galvanise sheeting, gates, barrows, barrels, buckets, copper, lead, aluminium, stainless steel, bikes, motorbikes, old trailers, waterpumps, electric motors, wheels, solid fuel stoves, cast ironbath’s etc, even the kitchen sink! It is as simple as this if it’s metal and you don’t want it, we want it.

What we can’t accept: Anything that is not metal i.e.: tyres or any type of rubber based materials, glass, timber, plastic, domestic appliances i.e. washing machines, fridges, microwaves, electric cookers, gas cookers etc ( note: motors where applicable from these will be accepted)

For details contact: Tommy Hayes on: 087-7934739. Pat Mc Cormack on: 087-7986234.Richard Moloney on: 086-8228421. Sean Breen on: 087-2646441.

Trespass in field.

We would ask that those who are trespassing in the field and car park when the gates are locked to please stop this practise, climbing high walls / fences etc is not a safe activity and last Sunday a young child who somehow climbed or was lifted in, was locked inside the field and could not get out.

Parents are asked to keep an eye on what their children are up to as Kickhams GAA Club cannot take any responsibility for any possible injuries received from climbing an 8 foot boundary wall into private property. Not many responsible people would want someone clambering over their backwall, especially

if they had not got permission. There has also been some vandalism within the property in recent times and the appropriate authorities have been notified.

Please note that when the field is open all are welcome.

Memberships.

Please remember with intercounty championship up & running, only paid up members will be eligible for club tickets for All ticket matches.

U/12 News

Last Thursday evening all three Kickham U12`s teams were in action and came out victorious. Cappawhite were the visitors to Dundrum with A and C teams playing very well. The B team travelled to play Arravale Rovers and had a good victory.

U/8 News

Our U8`s travelled to Cashel on Saturday for a blitz and won all their matches. Congrats to all three U8 teams and their mentors.

Training for all teams at usual times.

COMMUNITY GAMES

We were at the county finals in Templemore last Sunday. We had a disappointing turn-out, but those that were there did well. We came away with two medals. Lorcan Carr did very well to take Silver in the U/10 200M final, after winning his heat well. In the U/10 100M, Stephen Browne took bronze, after winning his heat and coming second in his semi-final. In the U/12 600M, Cathal Carr put in a great run to take fourth in the final, after qualifying in fourth place in his heat. Kieran Browne ran very well in the 100M and narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals. It was a great performance overall by the lads, as the standard is very high at this level. Well done to all concerned

Dundrum Tidy Towns.

Well done to all who are giving of their time and effort to have Dundrum village and its environs looking so well . The combination of Dundrum Tidy towns, Station Road Residents Assoc and our local Fas workers can hold their heads high at the results of their labours. We hope that all those who live in or visit the village will respect the works that have been carried out . The judging of the tidy towns is underway throughout the country at the moment so it is important that the village looks its very best in the coming weeks and months.

BON VOYAGE JAKE.

Jake Ryan of Knockavilla will travel with other Concern volunteers to Kenya in July. As you can imagine soccer is as big there as in other countries, especially the English Premier League, La Liga, etc, but the majority of those in need cannot afford any of their favourite clubs merchandise. Jake is hoping to make a collection of new, old or unwanted jerseys, preferably soccer ones (all sizes accepted) so that the children will have the same chances as our own to feel connected to their heros and perhaps dream a little. Jake is son of Christopher and Helen Ryan who are delighted that he has been selected travel. Please drop any jerseys into the Ryan home in Knockavilla. Your usual generous support would be greatly appreciated.
