DONASKEIGH NS WIN CO.FINAL

Donaskeigh NS went to the Ragg last Friday and defeated Burgess NS to achieve their first County title for the school. The Donaskeigh team was excellent on the day playing some great football. It was a great team effort. Jack Ryan was confident in goal making one exceptional save. Evan Hadnett and Turlough Breen were solid in defence and set up many attacks. Mark Compton and Gerard O Dwyer were tireless in midfield setting up and scoring some excellent goals. Eoin McCormack, Orrin Cassidy and Eddie Daly were always dangerous in attack, very unselfish and playing for each other in the scoring. Aoife Ryan Rachel O Carroll Colm O Rourke Declan Ryan and Heather O Dwyer all came on to add to the victory. This campaign started n September and special mention must go to the Mc Cormacks the Hadnetts and the Breens for their help and transport. Our school coach Michael Shanahan was always giving advice and must get credit as well. The pupil’s staff and parents had a great day at the Ragg and were well decked out in the school colours thanks to DJ Butler of Butlers Centra Dundrum. Well done to all.
