JUNIOR HURLING:

Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams came oh so close to claiming a rare Co final victory when we were narrowly defeated by Moycarkey Borris in a rip roaring Junior (A)Hurling decider which was played in a wind swept Leahy Park Cashel on Saturday afternoon last. Playing against the gale in the first half Kickhams gave as good as they got and were unlucky to be 5 points down at the break on the score 1-5 to 1-10.With the strengthening wind behind the boys in the second half Kickham supporters were beginning to hope that this could be our day, but try as they might our lads could not just bridge that gap, coming to within one point midways through the half before conceding a penalty that hit the back of the net to open up the lead once more. In a tight finish Kickhams were only two points in arrears when time and luck ran out. The final score was Moycarkey 2-15 Kickhams 2-13. We thank all the players and management for their fantastic efforts during the year. They were a credit to themselves and the Kickham club. We would also like to express our gratitude to DJ and Marie Butler of Butlers Centra for their kind sponsorship of gear bags for the entire panel.

With this present dry spell fields are very drivable throughout the Parish and we are willing to cut any unwanted firewood if you cannot do so yourself. The Kickhams firewood auction with its tractor and car trailer loads of quality hard wood as well as Spruce for stoves, all blocked and split is a great fundraiser for the club and along with the Sale of work and Wheel of Fortune has contributed greatly to reducing the outstanding balance of the financial debt owed by the club. A debt that was necessarily accrued during the development works that included the purchase of lands from Coillte Teo to develop a new field as well as the works that were carried out on the entire property, New spectator Stand, Dressing rooms, Perimeter fencing, hurling wall and much more all to ensure that the playing and meeting facilities at Kickham Park in Dundrum are of the highest quality and are being enjoyed and appreciated by all within the entire club, including Juvenile, Camogie as well as the Senior section of the Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickham GAA Club. So in the coming weeks we will be holding meetings to organize the various events on the day and we would appeal to all involved in or with an interest in Gaelic games in our Parish to please come along, get involved with your club and help our native games to continue to proper in our Parish and community.

RAFFLE TICKETS.

Our annual fundraising tickets raffle will take place at the Sale of work on Sunday the 17th of November. There are great prizes including a 32” television as first prize and a number of cash and spot prize as well. We would ask all members to please collect some tickets from the club officers and help make this another success.

CAMOGIE:

U12's WIN CO.FINAL

All roads led to Ragg Camogie Pirtch o Saturday as the Kickham Girls took on a much fancied NewInn team as they had previously beaten our girls. the game was played in adverse weather conditions but that didn't stop the intensely of both teams. The game started evenly with both teams scoring

a point until an Eimear Heffernan free landed into the NewInn net. Ellie Hadnett in goals had a solid game and pulled off a great save to keep Kickhams in the match. The Kickham backs of Megan McCormack and SarahMae Crosse held the NewInn forwards at bay with Ciara Ryan and Sinead Furlong dominating in the halfback line. Midfield kept winning possession with Eimear Heffernan outstanding and Rebecca Farrell winning ball all over the field. The forwards kept the NewInn backs under pressure with Caoimhe McCarthy and Caoimhe McCormack foraging for possession and unlucky not to score more. Keri-Ann Walshe was a constant threat to the NewInn defence ably assisted by Leonie Farrell. Halftime score Kickhams 1-01 to 0-01

The Kickham girls kept up the pressure assisted by the subs in the dugout "shouting and cheering" them along in the 2nd half. The girls showed great courage and determination in terrible conditions. The New Inn girls had no answer to our aggression and ran out winners 1-05 to 0-02. Jubilant celebrations at the end showed Captain Keri-Ann lift the Trophy. Great credit to the panel of girls and their manager Mitchel Heffernan ably assisted by John McCormack, Kevin McCarthy, Sheena Ryan, Lisa Gleeson and Margaret O Carroll. "UP THE KICKHAMS"
