JUVENILE GAA.

TOMMY KELLY TOURNAMENT

The Tommy Kelly Memorial Tournament took place last Saturday in Kickham Park. Over sixty boys and girls took part with six teams playing in two groups of three. These matches were very competive

with some great hurling from all the six teams. Team managers put great effort into their teams throughout the tournament. The tournament ended with three finals. The Plate-Final was won by

Team F captained by Alan Butler, The Shield-Final was won by Team C captained by Shane Farrell, The Tommy Kelly Cup-Final was played between Team B and Team D. This match was a great game which had to go to extra time to get a result with Team B captained by Gerard O'Dwyer coming out on top over Team D captained by Cathal Carr. All teams received medals and treats and the Cup was presented by Vinny Kelly, son of Tommy. Great credit is due to the organisers of this annual event. Club officers, managers of teams and parents must be complemented on this great day for the children of the parish. Teas and sandwiches were laid on for everyone in the clubrooms afterwards. Many thanks to the ladies in the tea-room for this treat to end a perfect day!

KNOCKAVILLA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Now that the work in the church is complete, the refurbishment work in the Community hall can commence. This week will see the start of the installation of the new heating system. After this is

done we will have to carry out some cosmetic work on the interior of the hall which would consist of some plastering, carpentry and electrical. If anyone would be available to help with these projects we would be grateful if they could contact Kieran Slattery, or any Council member.
