AGM.

The Annual General Meeting of Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickham GAA Club was held in the Clubrooms Dundrum on Saturday night last the 22nd of January . The following were elected. Chairman Tommy Hayes,Vice Chairman Pat Mc Cormack, Hon Secretary Helen Ryan, Hon Treasurer Richard Moloney, PRO Sean Breen, Membership Officer Margaret Hayes, Co Board Rep: Billy Ryan, Schools liasion officers, John Mc Cormack, Seamus Furlong, Management Committee Senior & Juvenile officers & Aidan Slattery, Padraig Slattery, Paul O’Dwyer, Pat Ryan, Vera O’Dwyer, Billy Shanahan, David Shanahan, Simon Loughman, Paddy Hayes. Field caretaker Davy Horgan, Team managers for coming year. Senior

Hurling : Padraig Slattery & Vinny Kelly, U/21 Hurling/Football : Davy Heelan, Intermediate Football : Davy Horgan, Junior A+B Hurling : Pat Mc Cormack, Minor Hurling/Football : Phil Ryan. Please note that all players, mentors, and anyone elected to any position in the club must be fully paid up members prior to becoming involved. This is a club rule which must be enforced for insurance reasons.

Club social.

The club social will be held in the Venue Dundrum on Saturday the 5th of February , Tickets @ 20 euro can be purchased from any club officer or from local shops. Medals will be presented to the JHB team which won the West championship and music will be provided by Wall Street. Meal is timed for 8pm.

Sympathy.

The committee and membership of Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickham GAA club offer their deepest sympathies to Andy Kennedy and family Gooldscross and formerly Kilmore on the death of his wife Mary (nee Ryan) on Sunday last after a long illness bravely borne.The Kennedy family have a long association with the Kickham Club.We also extend our condolences to her sisters Betty Lacey Ballydine, Alma Mahon Smith London, Brothers Donie Ballintemple, Ollie Dublin, Willie Annacarty, their families and the extended Ryan and Kennedy families on their sad loss. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam .

We also offer our sympathies to Mrs Joan Riordan and Family, Station Road, Dundrum, on the death in December of her nephew Martin Duggan late of Mountrath Co. Laois and in January of her cousin Tony Higgins late of Woodford Gooldscross. May they rest in peace

Juvenile AGM.

The Annual General Meeting of the Juvenile Club will be held in the Clubrooms on Friday the 28th of January at 8.30pm. Any motions or nominations for all officers and selectors will be accepted up to the 27th of January. Our Lady’s Sodality.

The monthly meeting of Our Lady’s Sodality will be held on Monday next the 31st of January. Mass in Knockavilla Church @ 7.30pm, all are welcome.

Table Quiz.

FC Dundrum would like to thank everyone who supported their recent Table quiz in any way which was held in the Venue. It was a great success and helped raise some much needed funds for this progressive club.

Book launch

A new book entitled 'Micheál Mac Cárthaigh - Fíor-Ghael Thiobraid Árann’ was launched on Tuesday night the 14th Dec. in Brú Ború, Cashel @ 7.30pm under the auspices of Conradh na Gaeilge. The book, which features lectures and addresses given by Micheál over many years, has been compiled by Dónal Ó Muirgheasa O.S., former Principal of Knockavilla N.S. and will be on sale @ €10.

Card nights .

The card nights at the old courthouse in Dundrum are proving a great success and are continuing every Wednesday night from 7.00 - 9.00pm.

Knockavilla /Donaskeigh Youth Club.

Knockavilla/Donaskeigh Youth Club continues every Friday night in Knockavilla Community centre from 7 pm to 8.30pm. The first few weeks have been great fun for all concerned. The club is open to 8-12 year olds attending primary school.
