Description
The QFX 10000 is Junipers new High Speed Chassis and switches
They are based on a new ASIC called Q5, this CHIP runs 500Gbps of traffic per CHIP.
The larger cards will have more CHIPS and this is all line rate.
They are engineered to run 10/40/100G.
They don't have PoE.
They have nothing to do with the old QFabric.
7.2 Tbps per slot 72 * 100G max per slot {future}

Front and back
QFX10002-36Q = 36 QSFP+
QFX 10002-72Q = 72 QSFP+
QFX 10008 = 8 usable slots and 6 PSUs
QFX10016 = 16 usable slots and 10 PSUs

TAA - Trade Agreement Act
There are no TAA models
When you sell to the USA government in a contract over the sum of $194,000 the products must comply with TAA. This means they are
mostly produced or modified in the USA or a country that has a reciprocal trade agreement with the USA.
{China and most notable electronic makers are absent }
Notice, when selling to the government of the USA you MUST use TAA.
SLOTS
For all intensive purposes the Chassis are
10008 is 8 slots
10016 is 16 slots.
The line cards that can be used today are.
QFX10000-36Q
QFX10000-30C
QFX10000-60S-6Q
These cards work in a NEW way.
The first example is the 36Q.
It is built to give you 36 QSFP+ ports.
You can also split a QSFP+ {40G} port into a 4 SFP+ {10G ports} using the usual splitter cables.
Now for the new stuff.
These ports support QSFP28
This is the same size as a QSFP+ port.
But can offer you 100G of throughput using 4 *25 G lanes.
When you plug in a QSFP28 transceiver it will disable the other ports in the GROUP.
So if you look closely at the card if you plug in the 100G QSFP28 it disables the ports next to it.
So the card supports UP to 12 * 100G ports.
This is the 100G to port mapping on the QFX10002 switches
So,
We have Chassis
Line cards
100G ports.
The Big Chassis can have a redundant Supervisor.
Here it will be called a CONTROL BOARD.
It has PTP for timing and 4 SFP+.

Layer 3 routing protocols support
There is a NEW naming convention.

Support options are based by the Chassis size, aka number of slots.
Next Day Ship, this applies only to (AVAILABLE FOR BRAZIL, RUSSIA, INDIA, AND CHINA ONLY)
and means that they will ship it the next day, not when it arrives.
The support changes by country.
The Juniper options of support are listed below in this slide.
